Why Do You Need/Want a Website?
In todays world everything is about information, information, information and that is why you need a website - to share your information.Whether it is for your current local business, to create a new online business or to share your information and passion with others - a website can allow you to work when you want while giving you the income you need. You can work (or in my view play) as much or as little as you want. You can work from home or from the beach or anywhere you want to go as long as you have computer access somewhere. Obviously doing more will make you more but once you get the hang of it you'll soon be addicted like I am. No matter what type of business you have or work for- you need a website or you are wasting valuable time and resources. Your site can so most things from attracting new clients, maintaining and supporting clients or whatever you need. You may also just want to start and develop a new business around an idea that you have or a product that you know of. You can make money selling other peoples products through affiliate programs (which is when a company pays you referral fees for sending people to their products or services through your site.) If you don't have a business or product to sell, you can now make money just writing about what you know and love. It is the new infoprenuer making their way onto the scene. That is what I do mostly using programs like Google Adsense and selling information in the form of Ebooks (electronically delivered books). The way Adsense works is that you just write content for your site andfor a free account and they let you put their ads on your website. The ads are targeted towards the keywords on your page so it is usually relevant information to your topic and when someone clicks on the ads - you get paid. How much? Well it is almost enough for me to be making a living on it right now and I am sure it will be soon as my traffic and content grows. You may just want to create a website so that you can share family news or for your community group or other group. A website is fun and there is always something new to be learning and doing. There are websites that require that you know web programming or know how to use an website editor like Front Page, Dreamweaver or one of the less expensive or free editors like Coffeecup or arachnaphobia. I'll talk about these later but you can also find webhosts that do it all for you and you don't have to know any programming. So there are many different ways to create a website starting with a free site that you do all on your own to hiring a designer for mucho bucks to create and develop your site. Before you venture off into any of those things, I suggest that you take the time first and start planning your site so that you can make the best choice in hosting and services for your site or hire someone who will best fit your needs. Keep traveling down the navigation bar to learn more...If you are starting to feel overwhelmed - don't worry. That is common when you are starting a new project and learning a new skill and a way of life. Just take a few breaths and take a break and let your mind start absorbing what you are learning and let it swirl with new ideas! It is what life is all about - creating what you desire and a website is one of the best ways for doing that.
