Websites for your Massage Therapy Practice

I couldn't believe it when I read in last fall's (2007)ABMP's member survey that only 26.8% of massage therapists have a website that they use to promote their massage business!!! If you are one of those, you are missing out on the easiest and most direct way to get a constant stream of new massage clients each week. When people are searching for 'massage, your city' your website should come up on the first page or two of Google -preferably in the first spot on the first page. This offers the best chance of getting someone to actually click on the link in the results to go to your website. But to get someone to click you actually also have to have a good headline that Google (or any other search engine) will list in the results. To do that requires that you also understand how to name your file names along with how to create web pages that are optimized with keywords and descriptions which are the words that usually show up in the results along with a few lines of content from your first paragraph.

When people find your site it also adds to your credibility as they feel more confident by finding you. If they find you through an advertisement or other source they come to the site already thinking you are going to be pressing them to make an appointment.

When they click on your listing and find a site filled with content and information about massage and what it can do along with what your philosophy about healing and massage -you will have a client that is already beginning to trust you. Creating content that educates your clients is how to begin the process of getting a client. What clients want to know most is if you will be able to handle or work with whatever condition that they are thinking of coming to you with- Stress, an injury, headaches, fibromyalgia, pain syndromes, heel pain, neck pain, herniated discs - whatever it is. They need to know what solution do your provide.
