Start Your Own Blog Using Wordpress

One of my favorite ways to communicate and build traffic for my sites is by blogging.

A Blog is an online journal. There are many different services that you can use to start a blog but I recommend that you start your own blog using wordpress and ez-web-hosting.com If you are interested in starting a blog, the first thing to figure out before putting any time into it is why do you want a blog?

To make money?

Because you have something important to say on an important topic?

Because you just want to entertain your friends, family and have fun too?

Knowing what kind of blogging you want to do can help you decide which way to go -with a free blogging system from blogger.com or wordpress.com or do you want your own customized blog that is hosted by a reputable company with a customer service department to help you?

The other thing to figure out if you want to make money with a blog is what are you going to blog about? What is it that you are passionate about or an expert in? What special information or knowledge are you wanting to share? While this is an important part -having passion because you will have to be blogging almost every day. The real thing you want to find out is what do people want to know about? Just setting up a blog to share your own knowledge is really something that is all about YOU. If you are wanting to make money with a blog - you have to find out what people want to read about - What value can you provide them? You will only make money when you can provide value to people. To figure this out you will need to do some research on your topic. You have to find out what topics are in demand and what keywords will generate money for you. The best topics will also have a low supply of sites! You can start with using this free tool from SiteBuildit! called Searchit! to brainstorm and research your site concept and keywords. It is a little confusing to use at first but just read the sections in the help buttons so you know what you are searching for and what the results are telling you.

You can also use the Site Build It! guidelines in days 1-5 of the SBI Action guide and choose a niche or site concept and create a site just using a wordpress blog and start making money using some of the different methods of making money online. Even though it talks about using the Brainstorming software that comes with Site Build it!, there are some other free tools that it talks about and teaches you to use.

They way blogs work to get traffic is through their rss system. If you don't know what rss feeds are about you don't really need to know the technical stuff. Just know that it is what sends out notices to the search engines and other blogs when you create a new post. Rss is short for really simple syndication but it isn't so simple to understand. So once you go through the action guide and choose your site concept and domain you can register it through www.ez-web-hosting.com When you get your login information just go to the control panel and go to the section labeled CGI and pick the link to auto installer. You can then find the wordpress on the left hand column under blogs and just click on it to get information on how to install it. Follow the instructions and set up you blog in the main directory. You will eventually end up with a message that your wordpress blog has been installed and it will give the address for the administration panel and the blog itself. Go to the admin panel and login to establish yourself as the administrator. You can read the instructions at wordpress.org on how to set it up and how to use it. And then you can add your montetization model that you discovered in the SBI action guide and implement it in the blog. If it is adsense you will have to edit the code in the theme editor section. Most of what you need to know is in the documentation section at wordpress.org.

You can choose your theme and also choose additional plugins to make it more functional.

It does take a little doing and playing with and is not for novices but it is an easy way to start making money.
