is the name of Robert Kiyosaki's first book. I only recently have caught on to the wisdom of Rich Dad. I at first thought it was just about teaching kids about money. It isn't that at all except that you will need to teach your kids this after you get it or learn it with them.
I have just finished reading chapter 9 of the "Conspiracy of the Rich" in his online interactive sessions and I have to say I wish I had found this guy a long time ago. His basic message is that we have all been suckered (my words!) into thinking that the way to riches is to have a good education, get a job, invest in a house and some money market or 401 (no) K and retire on an island in the Pacific. Well how is that working out for you?
Investing for capital gains will not get you there. Investing for cash flow is the name of the game. I haven't quite got that all down yet as he recommends investing in real estate and also shorting stocks which isn't for me quite yet, but I think I am on my way.
Part of it is also learning about your core belief system and learning to change it. Most of our beliefs about money were created at an early age and we kept repeating the same thing over and over proving ourselves right. We choose professions and careers and associate with others who think the same way and support our beliefs to keep our beliefs alive. The hard part is that we don't know it is happening because it is all an unconscious process.
