Increasing Your Page Rank

Page Rank is a number given to your website by Google which indicates it's popularity. "Page Rank" is actually even trademarked by Google.

Here is how Page rank is defined by Google from their page on page rank:

"Over the years, Google has continued to invest in making search better. Our information retrieval experts have added more than 200 additional signals to the algorithms that determine the relevance of websites to a user's query.Over the years, Google has continued to invest in making search better. Our information retrieval experts have added more than 200 additional signals to the algorithms that determine the relevance of websites to a user's query."

The way the number is calculated is really unknown. Google's Public Policy blog says this about it:

Over the years, Google has continued to invest in making search better. Our information retrieval experts have added more than 200 additional signals to the algorithms that determine the relevance of websites to a user's query.

That basically means that there are over 200 things that Google bases the Page Rank on.

What does that mean for you? Stop thinking about Page Rank because you will make yourself crazy in 200 ways!

The best thing you can do is just focus on writing content for your site and creating an internal link system within your site as well as focusing on getting back links which is other sites linking to you. You don't have to spam sites asking for link exchanges and I actually don't recommend that you do that.

I have a list of methods of getting back links in the increasing your traffic section.
