Create a Free Website
> If you are just starting out in the website world, you are most likely looking to create a free website. Creating a free website is a great way to start learning about websites. You can find may free sites that have everything you need and you won't need to know html or other programming languages. While there are still hosts out there that let you create a site for free, I usually don't recommend it if you are serious about creating a business or an image for your business. Most free hosts will have advertisements on the site that will take away from the professional look that sites will need. If you are just wanting a site for your family or friends or for a small local group that you do not need to get found by the search engines, a free website would probably do fine. I first started in 1999 using a free webhost like Bravenet.com or Tripod.com. I started out using Netscape's free website editor - Netscape composer that you can still get Free in a Firefox package.Just go to the Firefox website and download the Seamonkey application. There are also other free or low cost html or text editors for you to choose from. You can find a list of them on the
html editors page
You can also set up free blogs at places like blogger.com and wordpress.com and use that as a site. Setting up a blog is probably easier than setting up a website. Either way it is a good way to start learning about websites and how things work online. If you are serious about creating a site and want to make money with either Google Adsense, selling ebooks, selling your own products or selling your services, you are much better of setting up a real website. If you don't know anything about creating websites I recommend Site Build it! They are much more than a website. They are an all in one business building system.
