Blogging for Dollars

Can you really make any money just by blogging? Blogging for Dollars as they say?

Well yes is the definitive answer...

Some seem to thing that blogging is just a fad but the fact is that is has been around since the beginning of the internet almost.

The way blogging works is that you write a post every few days of quality content and the rss system tells everyone who has subscribed to your blog to come back to your blog (website) and read your latest tidbit of wisdom.

Huh?? Are you saying what the heck does all that mean...I know rss took me a few months to wrap my head around and I still don't have a clue about how the technology does it all, but the basic thing I have learned is that rss (really simple syndication) is really all about getting traffic.

I have another non-SBI! Site that I started awhile ago -www.massagepracticebuilder.com and a few years of just adding content and playing I had less than 100 visitors a day. I started a blog awhile ago and only last fall started blogging regularly and my traffic has suddenly gone up to 400-500 people a month. That is quite a jump and it is all really because of the blog.

The Site Build It! system comes with a sort of mini-blog that you can post too and the other neat thing is that when you create a new page, you can add this to your blog. This means when you add that page, you are also sending it out to the world (the people who have subscribed to your blog) to come and read what you wrote if they are interested. The only draw back is that it isn't a permanent blog as in the posts will stay there forever and readers cannot post a comment (which may or may not matter as my regular Wordpress blog hardly gets any real comments compared to the 50 or so spam comments I get. Can you believe that people waste their time with that???)

Site Build It! is in the process of creating some software that is supposedly going to allow readers to post their articles or whatever.

In the meantime, you can get a website really cheaply from www.ez-webhosting.com When you purchase a hosting package there, you get the ability to put a Wordpress blog (my favorite system) on with just a few clicks of the mouse. While there is a little bit of a learning curve, the Wordpress help and support documents are really specific and the staff at www.ez-webhosting.com are very helpful and go beyond their duties to help out people like me who don't know much programming.

Within a few minutes you can be blogging away.

What do you blog about? Whatever you love talking about but keep it specific to a topic.

You can also then use programs like Google Adsense or Kontera and put ads on your site. When people click on the ads, you get paid.

You can also refer people to affiliate programs which you can also make money with.

There are also other ways to make money and Site Build It! has some great resources for researching the ways. Their SearchIt! Tool comes with a monetization selection. (This tool takes a little bit of playing with to get the hang of just what it is that you are looking at, but the directions are all there - just click on the ? besides things and click where it tells you and just play around until you get it. That's my method of learning new things -just click and go)

Blogging for Dollars sure beats sitting in traffic and working for bosses who are making the 18 million dollar bonuses!

The ebook I wrote can be used to set up your blog but you don't have to use the search engine optimization things because you don't want search engines actually going there. It will make it look like you have duplicate content.
