Blog Niche - What to write about on your blog
Finding your blog niche The first thing you want to do is to choose a topic or niche to blog about. Many of you may be massage therapists from one of my many massage websites. If you want to use it to promote your massage business you can use a blog to create an interactive website. You can actually use a blog to promote your practice and keep writing new articles every week and keep the search engines and readers interested in your blog.Creating a blog to make money and actually create a business online requires a little research and planning and perseverance. Most of this I actually learned form building and creating websites made with Site Build it! While just starting a blog on some topic that you know about is a start, you can actually do much more if you start doing some research first on your topic and see how much interest people have in it. You can actually research what words people are using to search with and how many sites out there have those words on them. The idea is to find a topic with a high demand (lots of people searching for it) and a low supply (not many sites out there with that exact information or sites out there with really poor information on your topic.) The way to find a topic/niche is to do keyword research using this handy tool from Site Build It! Called Write down 3 different topics that you know a lot about or are wanting to create a blog on. It takes a little playing around with but the directions are all right there. Just take it slow and take it step by step. You will mainly be using the brainstorm selection in step one and choosing the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and the Yahoo Keyword Selector Tool ( choose brainstorming in step one and one of the tools in step two.) to get an idea of how many people are searching for the topics that you are considering writing about. Next is to get an idea of how many sites are out there doing what you want to be doing. Choose the second topic in step one of the Search it! And go through the list of the various searches in the 2nd step and this will give you some ideas of how many sites that there are out there with your topic/keyword. ( I also recommend purchasing a SBI! website and using their brainstorming software to create a niche/site concept and you can also use the same information in creating a blog - the two will feed off of each other and compliment each other and promote each other.) Once you get an idea of how much your topics are in demand and how many sites are out there doing it already, it will help you choose one of the topics over the three you started out with. Choose the topic with the highest demand and the lowest supply – or you can be like me and just choose something you are really interested in and make it work no matter how long it takes. If you already really know what you want to write about, you still need to research the keywords so you can gear some pages and topics towards the most popular keywords. Keywords are what run the Internet. Everything is keyword based. The way to get a blog found is by writing about keywords that are in demand and also using the keywords in specific ways to attract the search engines and readers.
