How to learn to be a Writer
Learning to be a writer takes time and practice. Anyone can learn to write if they put their mind to it. Most of the ideas on my website involve writing content for websites. So many people don't think that they could do it because they don't know how to write. I have 2 massage websites. One with over 800 pages and one with over 300 pages and I still don't know how to write! I just love to organize and communicate information. I write the way I would talk. It is as simple as that. You also learn best by just doing it. When I started out in 1999, I was really bad. I wrote for myself. I liked writing. It made me feel better. I now am learning to write for others and to write with a goal in mind -whether it is to just communicate and engage in a discussion or to create a sales page. I have learned by reading some of the best Ebooks on the internet. Make Your Site Sell - I started with this one back in around 2001 or so. It is quite a long read and there are a few things that are outdated, but it still is one of the best sources for understanding what this online writing is all about and how you can make money with just about any topic that you know a lot about. Make Your Content Presell is a much shorter read and really focuses on getting over your barriers to writing. Everything that happens online is about learning to write to presell. Preselling is just another word really for building trust. That is done by providing information, information, information. Make Your Words Sell has been just recently released as a free ebook. (It used to cost $49.99) If you really want to know how to write to sell, this is the bible. The first thing really is to put yourself in your customers shoes and keep going back to your goal in writing online - to sell or get someone to do something- whatever it is. To purchase your products or to call to hire your services - you need to know how to write to sell. (Don't get turned off by that word sell. It really doesn't have to be a pushy, used car salesman type of sell. You need to match up your services with those who need it. That is basically it!
